The College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The CLEP test provides a resource for students to earn credit by examination. As with other Credit by Examination programs, prospective candidates may earn credit by demonstrating proficiency in the related subject matter. The Testing Office Brochure lists the current required score for CLEP exams and the credit awarded for achieving that score. Ths brochure is updated annually during Spring Quarter and is subject to change without notice. Effective Autumn Quarter, 2007, the Math Department no longer awards credit for any CLEP exam. Ohio State is an "Open CLEP Testing Center," meaning students may participate in the CLEP program at Ohio State's Testing Center and send scores to Ohio State or to any other accredited college or university. More information about the CLEP program and other school's score requirements for CLEP examinations may be found by reviewing the College Board's Website. The fee for a CLEP exam administration is $70 payable to CLEP and $20 payable to Ohio State. The Ohio State University Office of Testing accepts credit cards (Visa and MasterCard only), checks, and money orders. We do not accept cash. To schedule for a CLEP exam or if you have any questions, please call our office at 614-292-2241 or send an email to testing@esue.ohio-state.edu.
