Summer Quarter 2005 Important Dates

 

Summer Quarter Grade Posting Deadlines

Aug 1 Mon SP05 incomplete grades and/or extensions due.
Jul 28 Thu First term grades need to be posted.
Aug 25 (Midnight)1* Thu Graduating grades need to be posted for students with exams on T, W.
Aug 26 (Noon) Fri Graduating grades need to be posted for students with exams on Th.
Aug 29 (Midnight)2* Mon Non-graduating grades need to be posted.
Sept 2(Midnight) Fri All SU05 missing grades need to be posted.

 

 

Note 1:  During "Finals Week" grades must be posted by midnight each night.  

 

This will allow DARS to be updated before OIT end-of-day batch processing.  

 

The following morning degree audits will be available for commencement certifications.

 

 

 

Note 2:  The following morning degree audit will be available for processing 

 

of academic warnings, probations, and dismissals.

 

Summer Quarter Calendar

Jun 20 Mon First day of classes for First Term and Summer Qtr.
Jul 1 Fri Last day to apply for Resident status for Autumn Qtr, 
with appropriate documentation.
Jul 1 Fri Application to graduate for master’s and doctoral students 
due in 247 University Hall.
Jul 4 Mon Independence Day observed--no classes, offices closed.
Jul 4 Mon Deadline for Summer Quarter students to withdraw from or 
enroll in and pay for Student Health Insurance.
Jul 20 Wed Last day of regularly scheduled classes for First Term.
Jul 21-22 Thu-Fri Final examination for First Term only.
Jul 25 Mon Second Term classes begin, 7:30 a.m.
Aug 10 Wed Report of Master’s Examination or Final Oral Examination for 
doctoral students due in 247 University Hall.
Aug 17 Wed Approved Master’s thesis, doctoral dissertation and related fees 
due in 247 University Hall.
Aug 22 Mon Last day of regularly scheduled classes for Summer Qtr and Second Term.
Aug 23-25 Tue-Thu Final Examinations for Qtr and Second Term courses.
Aug 28 Sun Summer Commencement.
Aug 29 Mon E-mail notification of Summer Qtr grades to graduating students.
Aug 30 Tue E-mail notification of Summer Qtr grades to non-graduating students.
Sep 5 Mon Labor Day--offices closed.

 

Summer Registration Dates

Apr 24 Sun Last day to clear holds for Summer Qtr prior to windows opening.
Last day to have permission posted for Summer Qtr prior to 
windows opening.
Apr 25-Jun 24 Registration for Summer Qtr.
Jun 20 Mon Last day for continuing students to register initially for Summer Qtr 
or First Term without penalty.
Jun 24 Fri Last day to transfer colleges or make a campus change.
Jul 1 Fri Last day to register for Audit option for First Term.
Last day to register for Pass/Non-Pass option for First Term. 
(undergraduates only)
Last day for new and former/returning students to register for 
Summer Qtr or First Term without penalty.
Jul 4 Mon “15th Day” (Official Census Date) for Summer Qtr/First Term. 
The University reserves the right to refuse registration and/or 
fee payment after this date.
    Last day to drop Summer Quarter course without permission
Jul 8 Fri Last day to register for Audit option for Summer Qtr. 
Last day to register for Pass/Non-Pass option for Summer Qtr. 
(undergraduates only)
Jul 12 Tue Returning former student readmission request deadline for Autumn Qtr.
Aug 5    Fri Last day to register for Audit option for Second Term.
Last day to register for Pass/Non-Pass option for Second Term. 
(undergraduates only)
Aug 8 Mon “15th Day” (Official Census Date) for Second Term.

Summer Add/Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines

Jun 24 Fri Last day to add a First Term course without instructor’s written permission.
Jun 24 Fri Last day to add a Summer Qtr course without instructor’s written 
permission (advisor signature required for graduate students after this date).
Last day to add a First Term course without written permission of 
instructor and department chair.
Jul 1 Fri Last day to add a First Term course without petitioning.
Last day to drop a First Term course without a “W” on your record.
Last day to drop a course or withdraw from First Term without petitioning.
Last day to add a Summer Qtr course without written permission of 
instructor and department chair.
Note: Because of terms the student system can only handle drops
systematically through the 2nd Friday, not the 3rd.
Jul 4 Mon Deadline for Summer Quarter students to withdraw from or 
enroll in and pay for Student Health Insurance
Jul 8 Fri Last day to add a Summer Qtr course without petitioning 
(Third Week Rule).
Last day to drop a Summer Qtr course without a “W” on your record.
Jul 11  Mon Deadline for freshmen and sophomores to repeat or substitute a course 
(Forgiveness Rule--contact your college office).
Jul 22 Fri Last day to add a Second Term course without instructor’s 
written permission.
Jul 29 Fri Last day to add a Second Term course without written permission of 
instructor and department chair.
Aug 5 Fri Last day to add a Second Term course without petitioning.
Last day to drop a course or withdraw from Second Term or 
Summer Qtr without petitioning.
Last day to drop a Second Term course without a “W” on your record.

Summer Fees, Penalty Fees and Refund Dates

Apr 25 Mon First day SU fees may be paid.
SU fee assessment commences.
Jun 20 Mon 1st Day of SU Classes (Quarter & First Term).
Last day to pay SU fees (Quarter & First Term) without $100 penalty.
Last Day to pay SU Residence Fees without penalty (RDH).
First SU TOPP payment due.
Jun 21 Tue SU (Quarter & First Term) Late Payment Penalty of $100 starts.
SU (Quarter & First Term) Late Registration Penalty of $100 starts.
Jun 24 Fri Last Day 100% Refund Period SU (Quarter & First Term).
Jun 25 Sat Begin 50% Refund Period SU (First Term Only).
Jun 27 Mon SU (First Term) Late Payment Penalty increases to $300.
SU (First Term) Late Reg. Penalty for students increases to $500.
Jul 1 Fri Last Day 80% Refund Period SU (Quarter Only).
Last Day 50% Refund Period SU (First Term Only).
Jul 2  Sat SU (Quarter) Late Payment Penalty increases to $300.
SU (Quarter) Late Reg. Penalty for students increases to $500.
Jul 7 Thur 60% point in time for SU (1st Term) SFA withdrawal.
Jul 8 Fri Last Day 70% Refund Period SU (Quarter Only).
Jul 15 Fri Last Day 60% Refund Period SU (Quarter Only).
Jul 17 Sun Second SU TOPP payment due.
Jul 2 2 Fri Last Day 50% Refund Period SU (Quarter Only).
Jul 25 Mon Last day to pay SU fees (Second Term) without a penalty.
Jul 26 Tue SU (Second Term) Late Payment Penalty of $100 starts.

Note - All Students: Late fee payment penalty: $100 for the second day of classes through the second Friday. Beginning on the second Saturday, the penalty increases to $300.

Please note that special refund and forfeiture policies apply to students receiving financial aid or fee authorizations. Some students may be required to repay and refund a portion of their aid or fee authorization if they withdraw or drop hours.
