Winter Quarter 2008 Important Dates

Winter Quarter Grade Posting Deadlines

Feb 11	Mon	AU07 incomplete grades and/or Extensions due
Mar 13(Midnight)1*	Thu	Graduating grades need to be posted for students with exams on M, T, W
Mar 14(Noon)	Fri	Graduating grades need to be posted for students with exams on Th

Note 1: During "Finals Week" grades must be posted by midnight each night.
This will allow DARS to be updated before OIT end-of-day batch processing.
The following morning degree audits will be available for commencement certifications.

Note 2: The following morning degree audit will be available for processing
of academic warnings, probations, and dismissals.

Winter Quarter Calendar

Jan 3	Thur	First day of classes for Winter Qtr.
Jan 4	Fri	Deadline for submitting requests for Resident status for Winter Qtr. *STUDENTS MUST ATTEND THEIR MONDAY CLASS*
Jan 11	Fri	Application to graduate for master’s and doctoral students due
		in 247 University Hall.
Jan 21	Mon	Martin Luther King, Jr. Day observed--no classes, offices closed.
Jan 15	Tue	First day to submit C-2 residency applications for SP08, last day is March 28, 2008
Jan 17	Thu	Deadline for Winter Quarter students to withdraw from or enroll
		in and pay for Student Health Insurance.
Feb 18	Mon	Deadline for former returning students to request readmission
		for Spring Quarter.
Feb 27	Wed	Report of Master’s Examination or Final Oral Examination for
		doctoral students due in 247 University Hall.
Mar 5	Wed	Approved master thesis or doctoral dissertations and related fees
		due in 247 University Hall.
Mar 7	Fri	Last day of regularly scheduled classes.
Mar 10-13	Mon-Thu	Final Examinations.
Mar 16	Sun	Winter Commencement
Mar 18	Tue	Begin e-mail notification of Winter Quarter grades and reminder to
		review Spring schedule.

Winter Registration Dates

Oct 21	Sun	Last day to clear holds for WinterQtr prior to windows opening.
		Last day to have permission posted for Winter Qtr prior to
		windows opening.
Oct 15 -Jan 18		Registration for Winter Qtr.
Jan 3	Thu	Last day for continuing students to register initially without penalty.
Jan 4	Fri	Last day to transfer colleges or make a campus change.
Jan 11	Fri	Last day for new and former/returning students to register
		initially without a penalty.
Jan 17	Thu	“15th Day” for Winter Quarter. The University reserves the right
		to refuse registration and/ or fee payment after this date.

Winter Add/Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines

Jan 4 (Midnight)	Fri	Last day to add a Winter Qtr course without instructor’s
		written permission.
		(Advisor signature required for graduate students after this date)
Jan 11	Fri	Last day to add a Winter Qtr course without written permission
		of instructor and dept chair.
Jan 17	Thu	Deadline for Winter Quarter students to withdraw from or enroll in
		and pay for Student Health Insurance.
Jan 18	Fri	Last day to add a Winter Quarter course without petitioning
		(Third Week Rule).
Jan 21	Mon	Deadline for freshmen and sophomores to repeat or
		substitute a course.
Jan 25	Fri	Last day to register for Audit option for Winter Quarter.
		Last day to register for Pass/Non-Pass for Winter Quarter
		(undergraduates only).
		Last day to drop a Winter Quarter course without
		a “W” on your record.
		Last day to drop a Winter Quarter course without permission.
		(Forgiveness Rule -- contact your college office).
Feb 22	Fri	Last day to drop a course or withdraw from
		Winter Quarter without petitioning.

Winter Fee Assessment

Oct 22	Mon	WI08 statement of account E-mailer #1 sent by Fees and Deposits
		Includes: Rank 4, R, S, & T, plus all LAW & PHP (except those in dorms)
Oct 29	Mon	WI08 statement of account E-mailer #2 sent by Fees and Deposits
		Includes: Rank 3, M, & P plus all DEN & MED (except those in dorms)
Nov 5	Mon	WI08 statement of account E-mailer #3 sent by Fees and Deposits
		Includes: Rank C, N, Q, 2, 1, & all students living in dorms.

Winter Fees and Refund Dates

Oct 15	Mon	First Day WI fees may be paid.
Jan 3	Thur	First day of WI classes.
		Last day to pay WI fees without a penalty.
		Last day to pay WI Residence Fees without penalty (RDH).
		First WI TOPP payment due.
Jan 4	Fri	WI Late Payment Penalty of $100 starts.
		WI Late Registration Penalty of $100 starts.
Jan 7	Mon	Last Day 100% Refund Period WI.
Jan 11	Fri	Last Day 80% Refund Period WI.
Jan 12	Sat	WI Late Payment Penalty increases to $300.
		WI Late Registration Penalty increases to $500.
Jan 18	Fri	Last Day 70% Refund Period WI.
Jan 25	Fri	Last Day 60% Refund Period WI.
Jan 27	Sun	Second WI TOPP payment due.
Feb 1	Fri	Last Day 50% Refund Period WI.
Feb 9	Sat	60% point in time for WI SFA withdrawal.

Note - All Students: Late fee payment penalty: $100 for the second day of classes through the second Friday. Beginning on the second Saturday, the penalty increases to $300.

VERY IMPORTANT - Please note that special refund and forfeiture policies apply to students receiving financial aid or fee authorizations. Some students may be required to repay and
refund a portion of their aid or fee authorization if they withdraw or drop hours.
